Projects: Integrated Cornice and Banding Design for Exterior Stone Applications
The Advanced Architectural Stone (AAS) team has won a number of awards over years successfully integrating ornate cornice and banding designs for educational buildings, hospitals and healthcare buildings, commercial buildings, retail shopping malls, museums, convention centers, churches, sports arenas and a range of other applications.
AAS Advantage: Technology, Manufacturing Expertise
AAS is able to custom design architectural cast stone panels as required for specific project combining three different product materials:
- Dry vibrant-tamp cast stone panels: This casting technique allows stone pieces to be molded to specific shape from both the front, as well as the back side opening up design possibilities not always attainable with wet-pour precast concrete or natural limestone.
- Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) panels: GFRC panels are only ¾” thick and yet the specialized materials and casting technology provides the panels significant strength and unparalleled consistency, durability. GFRC has much higher strength to weight ratio compared to other manufactured stone products making it ideally suited for applications at higher elevation.
- For integrated design where stone is required for load bearing elements much larger span, the AAS team is able to combine wet-pour precast concrete stone products while seamlessly matching color and finish with vibrant-tamp cast stone and/or GFRC.
AAS Advantage: Design Freedom, Smooth Project Execution
The AAS team works closely with architects and contractors in the design phase to not only confirm design feasibility, but also provide project specific engineering details for installation. This mitigates risk in the project execution.
With CNC machining technology and experienced design craftsmen, AAS is able to fabricate stone panels with complex shapes and intricate design details. AAS has experience with custom manufacturing of large size stone pieces as well.
AAS has proven track record to match any custom color. The team is able to guide customers in customization of color as required as well.
Designers have options to develop cornices and bandings that look monolithic thanks to precise engineering of installation details that are not visible from outside.
The AAS team is able to maintain consistent structural properties, as well as color and finish of panels for project of any size. The team works closely with customers from initial design phase all the way to onsite construction planning and installation trouble shooting.
